The inspiration behind the art:
Counting Sheep is a quiet, slightly playful oil painting inspired by the feeling of trying to fall asleep. Three sheep are frozen mid-jump as they leap over a fence, caught in that in-between moment where everything feels light and slow. Behind them, a forest stretches out softly, calm and familiar, like a place you’ve seen before but can’t quite place.
The scene isn’t meant to feel dramatic; just gentle and a little unreal, the way thoughts start to drift when you’re half awake. The repetition of the sheep, the stillness of the trees, and the pause in motion all mirror that sleepy rhythm we fall into at night.
It’s a small moment, simple on the surface, but meant to capture that quiet space right before rest, when your mind wanders and the world feels softer.
